We started with a simple question: why does the most beautiful bedding in the world stay hidden in the villages of Rajasthan? We went to find out.
How It Started
Born from a Journey Across Rajasthan
Rang & Rui was founded after our team spent three weeks travelling through the textile heartland of India — Jaipur, Bagru, and Kutch — sitting with master craftspeople who had inherited their skills across generations. What we found was extraordinary craft, extraordinary people, and almost no connection to the customers who would love their work most.
“Rang” means colour in Hindi — a tribute to the vivid, hand-mixed natural dyes that define Indian block printing. “Rui” means cotton — the humble fibre that has clothed and comforted the subcontinent for thousands of years. Together, they are what we believe great bedding should be: colourful, natural, and made with intention.
Today we work directly with over 14 artisan families across Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Bengal, sourcing exclusively through fair-trade partnerships. No middlemen. No factories. Every piece you receive was touched by someone whose name we know.

We exist at the intersection of Indian craft tradition and American home living. Our job is to make that connection feel effortless for both sides.
We didn’t set out to build a linen brand. We set out to make sure the artisans we met in Bagru could keep doing what they love — and that the people sleeping on their work every night knew exactly where it came from.
